ClearRisk Manager: System Status

Between Jan 27th - Jan 28th, 2012 ClearRisk Manager will be upgrading to version 3.0.

Version 3.0 brings with it significant improvements and new features.

We appreciate your understanding during the upgrade process. In order to launch a full upgrade, ClearRisk Manager needs a 12-hour window where the service will be unavailable. During maintenance, brief outages (ranging from several seconds to one hour) are expected as the devices are reloaded.

We encourage ClearRisk Manager users to avoiding using the system during maintenance. 


All customer data has redundant back-ups and will not be affected by the upgrade.

Here are the details of the maintenance and expected impact:

01/27 (10:30PM – 1:00AM EST) Upgraded Code Transfer from Stage Sever to Live Sever Expected Impact: All users will be automatically logged off of ClearRisk Manager. An expected network interruption of 1-2 hours.


01/28 (1:00AM – 12:00PM EST) Stability Tests and Patch Releases

Expected Impact: Momentary packet loss or latency with expected interruptions ranging from 1 min - 1 hour. We encourage all users to avoid using the system at this time as there may be several reboots of the live server which may result in unsaved data being lost.

SCHEDULED UPGRADE: Nov 5th - Nov 7th, 2011

ClearRisk Manager’s primary data-centre will undergo a round of scheduled upgrades between Nov 5th - Nov 7th, 2011. This data-centre upgrade is being performed by our world-class service providers, PEER1 Hosting. This upgrade is being done primarily to enhance the performance and capacity of the applicable data-center.

PEER1 will need to install new software on the network infrastructure. All of the infrastructure that will be updated during this maintenance is redundant in an active-active configuration. Because everything is active-active, traffic will be re-routed during maintenance, but brief outages (several seconds to a couple minutes) are expected as the devices are reloaded.  

Here are the details of the maintenance and expected impact:

11/5 (2:00AM – 4:00AM EST) Aggregation layer configuration changes

Expected Impact: Momentary packet loss or latency with  isolation of network paths and fail traffic over to redundant routes. An expected network interruption for 1-2 minutes while all paths are momentarily lost to achieve multi-path stability.

11/6 (1:00AM – 5:00AM EST) Aggregation and Access layer software updates

 

Expected Impact: Momentary packet loss or latency while the VDX (Aggregation) sub-distribution cluster is updated.  Traffic will gracefully fail over to redundant paths during the updates.  You can expect to see a 2 minute outage while the FCX stack associated with your access switch(s) is reloaded for an OS updated.

11/7 (2:00AM – 4:00AM EST) Router software Updates

 

Expected Impact: momentary packet loss or latency while traffic is distributed across redundant links during normalization, when traffic is failed over to redundant links during OS updates, and when traffic for some VLANs is transitioned to the new network.  Anticipate up to four interruptions of less than one minute each.

This series of upgrades will ultimately make ClearRisk’s infrastructure faster and even more secure.

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE: July 28th and July 30th, 2011

ClearRisk Manager will undergo routine maintenance on Thursday July 28th and Saturday July 30th, 2011 between 12:00AM - 6:00AM EDT.  The service will be unavailable for 30 minutes during maintenance.  The scheduled maintenance is part of a project to upgrade the network at one of our hosted data centers.

This network upgrade is being performed by our world-class service providers, PEER1 Hosting. This upgrade is being done primarily to enhance the performance and capacity of the applicable Datacenter. The process will occur within the time slot above and should take up to 30 minutes during which time ClearRisk Manager will be unavailable.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause you, however, in the long run this will allow PEER 1 Hosting to better support ClearRisk with: 

- IP6 capable network 
- 10 GB uplinks 
- NPLS 
- Multi-layer cloud like redundancy 

This series of upgrades will ultimately make ClearRisk’s infrastructure faster and even more secure.
